Community Advisory Group
As part of the CSS process, IDOT will be forming a Community Advisory Group (CAG).
A CAG is considered a key interface in the public engagement process because IDOT
understands that the success of a project is contingent upon the participation and
feedback from affected stakeholders.

The CAG will be comprised of community leaders, including elected officials, representatives
from local municipalities, homeowners, business owners, and stakeholders with expertise or
technical interest in the areas of environmental, land use, transportation, and economic
development within the study area. The CAG is an advisory group and is responsible
for gathering concerns from their respective groups and sharing those concerns at the CAG meetings.
In addition, they are responsible for conveying the information they receive at the meetings back to
their respective groups. The CAG also ensures that project solutions balance community, technical
and long-range planning needs. The CAG also assists in keeping the project on the right track
with respect to implementation and provides input at key project milestones throughout the study process.
CAG meetings will be designed to encourage timely and meaningful input by members.
